Similary to Camp Vivace, the Bach Festival Camp offers students the ultimate music experience by combining music training with age-appropriate workshops and craft activities. This camp, however, is dedicated to the life and times of Johannes Sebastian Bach and all things related! Campers will visit 1-3 community concerts being offered during the week, exacts dates to be announced. Previous experience is not necessary to join this camp, however, children with a background in music will also benefit from the camps as the performance repertoire will be tailored to each student's ability. Activities will include segments on music instruction, music appreciation, workshops with visiting musicians, and crafts - all leading to a final performance at the end of the week, available for friends and family. Performances will be held at the Academy at 3:15pm on the last day of each camp. Friends and family are invited to join!
Each day the group will also take walking field trips to picnic and have some free time. Locations include Skinner Butte Park, Hult Center, EWeb Fountain and Park Blocks on Oak. During our final day, the group will take a trip to a nearby creamer to reward their efforts with a scoop of ice-cream or sherbet (included in materials cost).
